2nd Scientific Conference
On November 7, the 2nd scientific conference of the BIOMEnext project took place online via Microsoft Teams, organized by the University of Perugia 🎓.
During the event, the project partners presented the results achieved so far, highlighting the progress made across the different research activities within the project.
It was a great moment to share updates, exchange insights, and reflect on the outcomes obtained to date.

Meeting with Italian Stakeholders
On 3 October 2025, the conference “Research for sustainable olive grove management” was held online, promoted by the University of Perugia as part of its projects dedicated to sustainability in olive growing.
The initiative represented an important opportunity for researchers, agronomists, businesses and institutions to come together and share experiences, results and prospects for a more sustainable future for the olive sector.

BIOMEnext at EXPO OSAKA 2025
The University of Perugia (UNIPG) presented the BIOMEnext project during the Umbria Days at EXPO Osaka 2025, at a dedicated event held on Thursday, September 4th, at the Italy Pavilion.
The initiative highlighted research projects in the strategic sectors of olive oil and truffles to a specialized Japanese audience, including the European project BIOMEnext.

Training about “Drone Technologies and Smart Irrigation Water Management in Agriculture" 21-23 April, 2025
The training is organized by UCA and aims to provide participants with a solid theoretical and practical foundation in the use of drones for water resource management in agricultural irrigation. It is designed to train researchers, engineers, and students in the following techniques:
• Understanding the principles of drone imaging and its applications in agriculture.
• Carrying out a drone mission in the field: planning, implementation, and data acquisition.
• Processing and analyzing drone data — from handling complex imagery to developing detailed orthomosaic maps and calculating crucial vegetation indices like NDVI, NDRE, and NDWI.

On May 25, 2024, the BIOMEnext project was presented by UNIPG at the Zefferino d'Oro event organized in Spoleto by the company Monini s.p.a., one of the leading producers of EVO oil in Europe. Many stakeholders in the olive oil sector from all over Italy attended the event. Picture

XXIX Spanish Microbiologists Conference
The Partners from the University of Salamanca (USAL) presented some preliminary studies at the XXIX Conference of Spanish Microbiologists held in Burgos (Spain) between 25-28 June, 2023. They explained how to isolate bacteria from olives' rhizosphere and leaves and how to identify them, tested several in vitro plant growth promotion traits, and presented the results of preliminary planta tests under greenhouse conditions.
